Art Appreciation (ARAP1100)

COURSE DESCRIPTION

An introductory course emphasizing the acquaintance and enjoyment of the arts.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

During this course, students will:

A. demonstrate through written and/or verbal means an understanding of historical and contemporary forms and time periods of visual arts.

B. demonstrate the relationship between styles and cultures and how each affect the fabric of humanity.

C. develop a basic knowledge of art media and the meanings of the vocabulary of art.

D. interpret works of art through analysis of content, structure and style and will form and defend judgments about works of art.
